1.The east window of Dale Abbey.
Founded in 1160 as a monastery of Austin canons, the present remains date from 1200.

2.This would have been the inside of the Abbey.

3.This part is in the village and the house as been added to a part of the abbey, most probably the kitchen chimney.

HORSLEY CASTLE
A few of the last remaning facing stones, the mortar and stone infill that was between the walls is quite substantial.

The Keep ?
The castle was owned by king John in 1199.
There are records to show he had repairs done and also had it strengthend.
The remains are believed to be the keep.
